While the rest of the Bayern Munich squad gets a well-earned day off, Jonas Urbig is choosing to put in some extra work.
After two intense training sessions on Monday and Tuesday, Vincent Kompany decided to give his players the day off as the team continues to build toward the start of the competitive season. The break should give the squad an opportunity to recover after a demanding stretch of preseason preparation.
Urbig, however, was back at Säbener Straße on his day off, completing an additional
training session alongside goalkeeping coach Michael Rechner.
For a young goalkeeper competing for an important role at Bayern Munich, those extra sessions can be particularly valuable. Urbig is entering the season with plenty of eyes on him, especially as he continues to develop behind Manuel Neuer and establish himself as a long-term option for the club.
There is still plenty of preseason work to come, but Urbig is clearly not taking any opportunity for improvement for granted.
