The league announced offseason workout dates for everyone today, and we now know the Falcons will be kicking things off with voluntary minicamp from April 21-25. Following that, organized team activities (OTAs) will take place from May 18-19, May 21, May 26-27, May 29, June 8-9, and June 11. Mandatory minicamp runs from June 16-18 before the long summer break begins.
That means the Falcons will get together ahead of—and during—the 2026 NFL Draft on a voluntary basis, which means we’ll get some early
updates on whether James Pearce Jr. will be reporting (I doubt it) and potential injury updates on Michael Penix Jr., Kaleb McGary, Brandon Dorlus, and Bralen Trice, to name a few.
It’s easy to overreact to what’s going on in minicamps and OTAs, but it’s also an opportunity to get glimpses of the team’s decision-making process and potential strengths and trouble spots. For example, last year we saw Billy Bowman Jr. get starting nickel reps before we expected him to, Divine Deablo turn heads early, and Michael Penix Jr. struggle with accuracy in a way that foreshadowed his 2025 troubles. We’ll have something to overreact to, too, which is fun when the Falcons haven’t been on the field in many months.
Let’s see what OTAs and minicamps bring us, but at least now we know when they are.
