Bayern Munich’s recent results against Eintracht Frankfurt have been rather inconsistent in recent, with multiple porous matches and most notably two humiliating 5-1 defeats taking place in the last 5 years.
But new signing Jonathan Tah has had a much smoother time against Eintracht Frankfurt. With former clubs Bayer Leverkusen, he had won the last 6 Bundesliga games on the bounce against Die Adler before switching to the Bavarians over the summer.
Now Tah has extended that streak against Frankfurt to 7 games after an ultimately comfortable 3-0 victory away to the Champions League contenders. Speaking after the match, Tah acknowledged the difficulty of traveling to Die Deutsche Park but also clearly emphasized the deserved nature of the victory:
“It’s not easy to come here and perform this way. It’s a difficult ground with a great atmosphere. We have a tough start to the game despite the early goal,” Tah admitted, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “We were better in the second half and played at a very high level with and without the ball. We deserved the win and want to continue this way.”
This only happens through good team chemistry and morale, though that is little news. What is notable is just how good Tah believes morale is at the moment: “Every player feels they’re part of the team. The coach is very communicative and is doing a great job in that department,”Tah explained, again captured by @iMiaSanMia. “Everyone is ready to give everything for the coach and for each other. We’re pushing each other. Tomorrow we’ll enjoy Oktoberfest, then focus on the national team and then the next game (Dortmund).”
Borussia Dortmund are also doing well at the moment, having again recaptured their old role of being top of the chasing Bundesliga pack in second place. Let us see how well Bayern recaptured their momentum after the international break, but if it is anywhere close to as good as it is now they will be pretty difficult to stop.
Bayern Munich’s away match against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga had all the makings of a dreaded trap game.
The Bavarians were scorching hot, entering a break, and playing against a desperate team coming off of a midweek embarrassment in the Champions League. Everything was lined up for a letdown…until it wasn’t.
Bayern Munich kept up its intensity and did not let anything distract it from the main goal — securing a win. The Bavarians did just that in a 3-0 victory. Let’s get into the nitty gritty of the match. Check out what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
