The offseason is winding down and with training camp is quickly approaching. Oddsmakers in Vegas have already set the New Orleans Saints’ win total at 6.5 games for the 2026 season.
The opponents on the schedule have already been set, but the dates and times for those games have not been released yet. That information typically comes out in mid-May, although it could be delayed by a week or so due to broadcast packages the NFL is currently attempting to sell to networks.
Even without the dates and
times finalized, it’s hard to argue that the Saints have not made significant improvements to their roster this offseason. The upgrades—especially on offense—combined with an offensive-minded head coach, suggest that this unit, led by a talented young, up-and-coming quarterback, will be much more explosive, balanced, and diverse than it was a year ago. That kind of growth should lead to more than just 6.5 wins.
Ross Jackson with LouisianaSports.Net joined me on my podcast Timeouts and Tangents this past Thursday and shared his thoughts on the Saints’ win total for the upcoming season. Once the schedule is officially released, there will be a deeper breakdown of matchups and win expectations. But as of now, it feels like Vegas may have this one wrong.
