With Anthony Joshua set to return in July against Kristian Prenga, the big question is still about Joshua and Tyson Fury.
And Joshua is strongly suggesting that Fury is his bigger plan still.
“It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back in to the ring, and today is the next step on that journey,” Joshua said via press release.
“I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. As I said, the landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.”
Joshua (29-4, 26 KO) told Fury that he is “the landlord” and the boss, that Fury works for him, when last confronted in London on April 11. So yes, the hint is clear, Joshua, 36, does intend to fight Fury, 37, after this bout with Prenga (20-1, 20 KO).
Prenga, of course, is aiming for the life-changing upset.
“Anthony Joshua is a great fighter, but he made a terrible miscalculation in picking me as his opponent,” he said. “This is the kind of fight that changes everything in my life and his. I know they have big plans ahead after this fight. I know they are overlooking me. I’m happy about that. I will derail their plans and shock the world.”
