The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 season is over, ending in the wild card round for the third consecutive season in blowout fashion. In those three most recent wild card losses, they’ve been outscored 89-37, the most recent one being a 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday night.
Not only have the Steelers been one-and-done in three consecutive postseasons, but they have now lost seven straight playoff games in total. With this loss to the Texans, Mike Tomlin has tied Marvin Lewis for the most consecutive postseason losses
by a head coach in NFL history.
The streak began back in the 2017 season when the Steelers lost 45-42 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The six ensuing losses are as follows:
- 2020: Cleveland Browns: 48-37
- 2021: Kansas City Chiefs: 42-21
- 2023: Buffalo Bills: 31-17
- 2024: Baltimore Ravens: 28-14
- 2025: Houston Texans: 30-6
