The Las Vegas Raiders recently signed wide receiver Brandon Johnson as a free agent this offseason.
Let’s take a closer look at Johnson:
Size:
6-2, 195 pounds.
NFL experience:
He was signed by the Denver Broncos in 2022 as an undrafted free agent. He played 20 games with Denver in 2022-23 and he played three games with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. He bounced between the Steeelers, Tampa Bay’s and the Broncos’ practice squads in 2025. He was last with the Steelers, who just released him. He has 26
career catches in 23 NFL games.
College:
He went to Tennessee (2016-21) and Central Florida in 2021.
Raiders’ ties:
He was with new Raiders’ head coach Klint Kubiak in 2022 in Denver. He was with Raiders’ wide receiver coach Zach Azzanni in both Denver and Pittsburgh and he was with Raiders’ quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan with the Steelers as well.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Johnson, who turns 28 next month, clearly has some fans in the Raiders’ organization. But the truth has been, he is a journeyman who has trouble sticking to rosters. The Raiders have a deep wide-receiver room, so he may have trouble making the 53-man roster. His best chance may be making the practice squad and then trying to get up to the active roster during the season.
