The Carolina Panthers are suffering through another traditionally disappointing preseason. This has been the reality for most of the team’s preseasons, regardless of their ultimate successes or failures in the ensuing regular seasons. That said, it’s difficult to maintain optimism when these lackluster preseason perfomances match the regular season disappointments that have become all to familiar on the Panthers current streak of seven consecutive losing seasons.
Bryce Young’s performance against
playoff and Super Bowl teams down the stretch of the 2024 season combined with well received free agency and draft results led to 93% of fans being confident in the direction of the franchise under general manager Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales. A whopping 97% of fans felt more confident in July than they had in January of this year.
Now we’re testing to see if that ebullience is holding true for Panthers fans after two dull preseason games and only a handful of mixed result drives from the team’s starters. Those starters are, by the way, extremely unlikely to see the field Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So for all public viewing and forecasting purposes, the preseason is basically over and the top of the roster locked in for the regular season.
Let us have it folks, how are you feeling now that we’ve seen some live football from the Carolina Panthers?
