For those Tennessee fans looking to make their travel plans next year, you’re in luck.
The SEC released the 2026 football schedules for all schools on Thursday night, and now Vol fans know who, when, and where the Big Orange will be taking on all of their opponents.
We knew some tidbits in the non-conference, particularly that the Vols were going to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech on September
12, but the Vols will get all of their non-conference games out of the way right off the bat, with home games against Furman and Kennesaw State sandwiched around the trip to face the Yellow Jackets.
The Vols get a three-game home stretch that includes marquee matchups against Texas and Auburn. The Longhorns’ stature needs to explanation, but the Vols will get a look at both of their coordinators from 2021-22 with the Tigers. Alex Golesh hired Tim Banks on Thursday as his new safeties coach, so the revenge factor will surely be there for the latter.
Tennessee gets its only bye on Halloween, so Vol fans who also are parents of young children are probably pretty happy about that. There is only bye week in 2026, as the season gets underway in September, unlike the previous two seasons, which triggered multiple bye weeks.
The Vols have a tricky final quarter of the season, as they go to Texas A&M, then welcome Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers to town before finishing up at Vanderbilt to end the year.
So, there you have it. What do you all think about the layout?
