Khamzat Chimaev returned home to United Arab Emirates to a warm welcome from his community.
Chimaev, who now calls Dubai home, delivered a lopsided performance against Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 319 this past Saturday in Chicago. With the win, “Borz” is now the UFC middleweight champion, and accomplished a feat that many believed would happen after debuting with the UFC in 2020.

The 31-year-old Chimaev improved his record to 15-0, including nine straight victories to kick off his incredible UFC run. In the championship win over du Plessis, Chimaev landed 12 takedowns in 17 attempts, and racked up over 20 minutes of control time, while also landing over 500 more total strikes than the now former champion in the bout.
