Formation
I felt like too much was being made of Ruben Amorim’s adjustments in recent weeks, but last week was a clear shift to a back four in the first half. With Mason Mount most likely out, we could
see another adjustment to the set-up. It’s hard to predict the starting set-up with so many players out.
Patrick Dorgu
Patrick Dorgu looked like a very different player on the right flank. It shouldn’t be forgotten that he made his United debut on that flank and scored all his goals at his previous club on the right as well. Having said that, it’s too early to get excited. Dorgu’s arguably the most powerful runner in this squad, but his technique is still a bit iffy. United are currently short on attacking players, so the most important thing is to get the best out of the few that are available. This might be a decent temporary solution that could also build up the player’s confidence.
Benjamin Sesko
He has struggled to get shots off since returning, and his underlying numbers weren’t great at his former club. Two goals into the halfway mark doesn’t look great for a striker, regardless of injuries and new surroundings. He needs to find the net somehow.
