Welcome back to another week of Mariners Reacts Surveys!
I’m not going to lie. It’s been a bit since we did one of these, but now is an ideal time to return from our brief hiatus. As some of you may remember, the last time we spoke was a little before the trade deadline, and since then, things have been looking pretty bleak for our beloved M’s. After a brutal road trip followed by an equally ruthless home stand, the Mariners still barely hang in playoff position. But at this point in the season, it’s
hard to say what exactly the Mariners can do except just play better. The bullpen has been awful, the starting pitching has been inconsistent at best, and the whole lineup has slumped at seemingly the worst time. Still, we maintain hope that the boys in teal and seafoam will pull this season out and bring us to the promised land.
Now on to the matter at hand, last time we spoke was right around the trade deadline, and we asked all of you how you felt about the deal for Naylor:

Clearly, people are feeling very positive. I, too, feel glad that the Mariners have finally addressed a position they have struggled to fill since the decline of Ty France. Hopefully, the Mariners can extend him this offseason, even if the season doesn’t work out the way we hoped.
This week, Mariners fans, we have a couple of questions. Something that has stuck out to me over the past few games has been the inconsistency out of the bullpen. Is it time for the Mariners to be worried? There are only so many games left, and things do not look to be getting better. But who knows, maybe I’m overreacting. Let us know in the poll and comments below.
We also want to know, if the Mariners miss the playoffs this year, should Jerry Dipoto be replaced? I can’t say he hasn’t tried, and there’s always the argument that he’s doing the best he can with the handcuffs placed on him by ownership, but at this poin,t we’re in year 10 of Jerry leading the front office. Yes, I can admit he’s really rebuilt this franchise from where it was back in 2015, but what do we have to show for it? One playoff appearance and great contracts for Cal and Julio? I think it’s at least a discussion worth having. Let us know what you think in the poll and comments below!
