
In this era of college football, huge sums of money are spent in every possible way, especially in the SEC. Teams are finding new ways every season to attract and retain talent. Schools are paying for nearly everything when recruiting a player, including airfare, meals, and promotions.
In a recent article by On3’s Pete Nakos, he revealed the substantial amount of money Division I programs are spending on recruiting. The Kentucky Wildcats came in at 42 on Nakos’ list.
The Wildcats spent $1,243,848 in
2024. They are between Texas Tech and Virginia Tech on the list.
In 2024, the 15 public SEC schools spent an average of $2.8 million on football recruiting. The Tennessee Volunteers led the nation in spending with a $5.3 million budget.
The Wildcats ended the 2024 recruiting cycle with the 25th-ranked class according to Rivals. Mark Stoops and Co. ended their 2024 season with a 4-8 record and only won one game in the SEC. The Wildcats will look to have a bounce-back season in 2025 and will look to be eligible for a bowl game.
