Spain are currently preparing for their final group game of World Cup 2026 against Uruguay and will be hoping to top the group going into the Round of 32.
The match against Uruguay promises to be a tough affair and Barcelona star Pedri will have to be very careful.
Pedri has already picked up one yellow card in the tournament, against Cape Verde in Spain’s opener, and a second at this stage will bring about an automatic one-match ban.
Any player receiving two yellow cards across their team’s first three
matches can be suspended for the first match of the knockout round. Yellow cards will then be reset after the group stages and again after the quarter-final stage.
Luis de la Fuente could decide to rest Pedri for the match, although that seems unlikely given his importance to the team.
Spain are currently top of Group H and, as things stand, could face Austria in the Round of 32.
