We have reached September, which means it’s time to start looking ahead. The Phillies have used an August to remember to vault themselves back into contention not just for a wild card spot in the National League, but they have also made the East a division that looks winnable if they can continue to keep up the hot hitting and solid pitching (and get some help from the Braves).
How do you think this ends?
Can the Phillies actually somehow doing the once thought to be impossible – winning a division
that they really never had a shot at? It would take a decent sized collapse from the Braves to do so, but the amount of times the two teams play each other, it’s at least in the realm of possibility that it will happen.
Even though a collapse of their own seems like something that can’t really happen, it’s something that needs to be considered. Were that to happen, we’d be having a whole new conversation about jobs and roster spots and all the other things that go with it.
