It looks like Ash by Elegance (aka Dana Brooke) is back to being a wrestler. Last year in September, Ash retired suddenly from competition while she was reigning Knockouts champion. The real reason was never disclosed, but it sounded like a permanent injury. It turns out that Ash snookered the world, because she plotted a surprise comeback to get physical on Impact (Jan., 22, 2026).
Despite the so-called retirement, Ash still remained a character on screen to mentor the Elegance Brand. TNA aired a few
scenes in recent weeks of Ash turning a new leaf from dastardly heel to respectful tweener. She was ringside for M’s match against Indi Hartwell. During the contest, Ash disapproved of Heather cheating to help her teammate. Hartwell ended up winning the match anyway. The real drama happened afterward.
Heather ambushed Hartwell. Ash had enough and stopped the attack to protect Hartwell. Ash and M argued then shoved each other. Ash was fired up to fight the Elegance Brand. As Heather and M contemplated fisticuffs with Ash, that’s when current Knockouts champion Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside ran in to help Ash. The two sides stared down.
This is where Ash’s master plan came together. Ash blindsided Lee, and the Elegance Brand cleared the ring as the villains that they are. Ash hit a DDT on the champ, then she shouted, “I’m back, baby!” The implication is that Ash will wrestle again.
Backstage, the Elegance Brand celebrated Ash’s comeback. Elegance! Elegance! Elegance!
Ash’s comeback story came completely unexpected to me. In hindsight, the hints were there. And it makes sense moving forward for Ash to target Lee for the Knockouts Championship that she never lost. Credit to TNA for pulling off that surprise of an angle.
