Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Real Madrid has swept in to make a move for RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomandé that could angle the Ivory Coast international away from his other suitor, Paris Saint-Germain:

Real Madrid’s initial bid was rejected, but this
should put PSG on notice. The Ligue1 club has been closely linked to Diomandé for weeks per Romano:

Romano went on to report that Mourinho has approved the move:

This is a fascinating twist for Real Madrid, but could also signal that the LaLiga powerhouse’s pursuit of Bayern Munich star Michael Olise is officially dead for this summer. Next summer is a different story, but for now, Real Madrid might have a more realistic apple of its eye.
Romano (via @iMiaSanMia) gives the details on why that might be:
Michael Olise is Florentino Pérez’s dream target. But Real Madrid don’t want to break their relationship with Bayern and will not bid if Bayern don’t open the door. So after spending 2-3 weeks trying to understand Olise’s situation, Madrid realized that Bayern are unwilling to entertain any negotiations. That’s why Real are now going strong for Yan Diomande and want to sign him.
In the end RB Leipzig could benefit greatly if Real Madrid and PSG engage in a bidding war for Diomandé, a player who is immensely talented, but also one who has one season of star-level play under his belt.
