The Minnesota Vikings are generally not expected to be a front-runner in the race for an NFC North title this season. They have the worst odds to win the division of any of the four teams, and there are questions up and down their roster. However, for a Green Bay Packers team looking to get a good litmus test of where they stand to start the year, a road game in Minnesota might be just what the doctor ordered.
You want to figure out your offensive line? You’re going to have to do it quickly in this
game against Brian Flores’ tough, creative defense. You need to figure out who you can count on at defensive tackle and edge? A matchup with an offensive line that looks questionable (especially on the interior) should provide some opportunities. Your new defensive coordinator needs to settle into a groove with his new personnel? Cool, go face the quarterback he just coached for the last two seasons in Arizona and whose tendencies he therefore knows extremely well.
At least one Packers defender is eager for the challenge of a road game against a divisional opponent for the opener. As fans, maybe we should take a page from Zaire Franklin and embrace the challenge that awaits the Packers as well.
