LOS ANGELES — The Atlanta Braves set their roster for the National League Division Series against the Dodgers on Saturday, carrying 13 position players and 13 pitchers for the best-of-5 series.
Atlanta is carrying one more pitcher than the Dodgers, which makes sense given that the Braves are deploying a bullpen game for Game 1 on Saturday.
The Braves haven’t yet made a decision on whether ace Chris Sale would start in Game 2 on Sunday. That would be five days after his start in Game 1 of the wild card
series, but the veteran left-hander also got the final four outs in relief to close out the wild card round on Thursday.
Among the pitchers added for Atlanta who weren’t active during the wild card round are AJ Smith-Shawver and JR Ritchie, who have both started and pitched in relief for the Braves this season. Demetrius Bell at Battery Power has more on the Braves roster.
