The Seattle Seahawks are back at home for their Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints. Incredibly, the Seahawks haven’t beaten the Saints since the 2013 season, when they eliminated New Orleans in the NFC Divisional Round on the way to winning the Super Bowl. It’s four straight losses since then, albeit with the acknowledgement that this hasn’t been a frequent matchup over the past decade. Still, it’d be cool if the Seahawks ended both the losing streak to the Saints and their woeful run at Lumen
Field.
Seattle heads over to CBS for this 1:05 pm PT kickoff. Since FOX has the doubleheader, only one game will be shown by CBS affiliates, and unsurprisingly if you aren’t in the immediate Seattle Seahawks or New Orleans Saints primary or secondary market, you’re likely not getting this game. Those in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Tampa Bay will be seeing Seahawks vs. Saints, so at least there’s some NFC South interest involved.
The three-man booth of Andrew Catalon, Charles Davis, and Jason McCourty will be on the call. Catalon and McCourty were in Seattle last year for the disastrous home loss to the New York Giants. If the Seahawks drop this game too then it brings a whole new meaning to the term “announcer jinx.” The lead game for CBS, incidentally, is the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings, which could still be appealing but is decidedly less so knowing both Joe Burrow and J.J. McCarthy are injured, leaving the capable Jake Browning and once-capable Carson Wentz as the replacements.
