Real Madrid continued their preparations for this weekend’s La Liga clash against Mallorca with a second training session of the week at Valdebebas, as Álvaro Arbeloa gradually welcomes back players from the international break.
There was a notable boost for the squad, with Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Kylian Mbappé all reintegrating into full team training after representing France. Their return comes at an important time, as Madrid begin a demanding stretch of fixtures that will define
their season across multiple competitions.
Not all returning internationals were on the same schedule, however. Antonio Rüdiger, who featured for Germany as recently as Monday, remained indoors and trained in the gym. Meanwhile, Dean Huijsen, Brahim Díaz, and Gonzalo García—who had match action even more recently—were present at the training ground but limited to recovery and physiotherapy work.
Arbeloa is still awaiting several key players. Federico Valverde, David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler, Franco Mastantuono, and Vinicius Jr. have yet to return after international fixtures played in South America and the United States.
On the pitch, the session followed a familiar rhythm. It began with warm-up exercises and rondos before transitioning into possession-based drills combined with finishing sequences on small goals. The intensity then ramped up with sprint work and shooting exercises, before the group wrapped up with a competitive seven-a-side match.
There were also encouraging signs on the injury front. Dani Ceballos and Éder Militão both completed the session without issues. Militão, in particular, is edging closer to a long-awaited return after nearly four months out, and could be available for the trip to Son Moix. Ceballos, sidelined for over five weeks, is also nearing full fitness.
However, Madrid are still managing a few absences. Ferland Mendy, Thibaut Courtois, and Rodrygo continue their respective recovery processes and are not expected to feature against Mallorca.
Assuming no setbacks, Arbeloa will have close to a full squad at his disposal for Saturday’s match, with the team set to hold another training session on Thursday morning.
The Mallorca fixture marks the beginning of a crucial run for Real Madrid. They will play four matches in just twelve days, including the highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich, which kicks off at the Santiago Bernabéu on April 7th.
With players returning, key figures nearing fitness, and a packed schedule ahead, Madrid are entering one of the most decisive periods of their season.
