The Ravens selected Penn State offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane with the No. 14 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, fulfilling the wishes of many fans who were hoping to fix the roster’s biggest weakness for the last two years.
Drafting an offensive linemen is not a needle-mover in April,
so Baltimore’s odds to win the Super Bowl next February remain at +1100 (via FanDuel Sportsbook).
It is hard to imagine many fans who are dissatisfied with general manager Eric DeCosta’s decision, though Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain, Baltimore Beatdown’s No. 1 overall prospect, was still on the board. Given how valuable elite edge rushers are relative to the guard position, there might have been some opportunity cost there. However, Bain’s below-average arm length also brings significant risk, and Ioane is one of the safest prospects in the entire class. He will be a high-quality guard in the NFL and has an exciting developmental trajectory as a potential All-Pro.
Beatdown’s other top available prospects included Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling and USC wide receiver Makai Lemon. Again, those are considered more valuable positions, but Freeling does not have a clear Year 1 job in Baltimore and Lemon’s skillset is somewhat redundant with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman already on the team.
So, what is your grade for the Ravens’ pick? Did they make the right call with Ioane, or did they miss out on another prospect like Bain, Freeling or Lemon? Give your answer in the survey below and add the rest of your thoughts in the comments section!
