The Dodgers could find out their National League Division Series opponent as early as Wednesday, with four more wild card games on the docket on the second day of the 2026 postseason.
The Braves beat the Phillies on Tuesday at Truist Park in Atlanta thanks to a three-run home run in the eighth inning by Austin Riley. The Braves will turn to Tyler Mahle to start Game 2 on Wednesday, trying to close out the series, while the Phillies try to stay alive with ace left-hander Cristopher Sánchez on the mound.
Technically, all four contests are elimination games on Wednesday, which comes with the territory of a best-of-3 series. In the first four years of the current wild card format (2022-25), 11 of 16 series ended in two-game sweeps.
