DFB president Bernd Neuendorf had a key role in the sacking / resignation of former German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Neuendorf thanked Nagelsmann for his service to the organization.
“The German Football Association (DFB) would like to expressly thank Julian Nagelsmann for the work he has done since September 2023. He personified a high level of commitment and exceptional ambition. Julian Nagelsmann is also an extremely conscientious and sincere person whom we all hold in high regard,”
Neuendorf said in a statement released by the DFB.
Nagelsmann’s staff was also let go per the DFB’s release:
Alongside head coach Julian Nagelsmann, his two assistants, Benjamin Glück and Benjamin Hübner, will also leave their roles. The DFB extends its sincere thanks for their commitment.
With former Liverpool FC coach Jürgen Klopp as its primary target, the DFB is looking forward to a fresh start with a proven leader and winner.
