Javier Aguirre is set for a reunion with Anthony Gordon this season after taking over as manager of Valencia.
The former Mexico boss had an interesting clash with Gordon at World Cup 2026, as tv cameras caught him shouting “Gordon, f*** you” during the teams’ last 16 match.
Aguirre has been asked what he’ll say when he catches up with Gordon again and saw the funny side at a press conference.
“I’m going to do it like this,” he said and then covered his mouth.
He went on to add: “It was a silly thing
to do. A spur-of-the-moment thing in the World Cup frenzy, these things happen, that’s it.
“I’m not going to dwell on it. I greeted him warmly, there’s a really nice photo, maybe I’ll ask him to sign it for my kids. He speaks Spanish well, that guy.”
Barcelona are due to meet Valencia next in La Liga in January.
