Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany knew playing PSV Eindhoven was not going to be a cakewalk.
The manager’s intuition would prove to be on point as his team battled for a 2-1 victory in the Champions
League. Afterward, Kompany sounded relieved to escape with three points.
“It was expected that this would be a tough match. They went to Anfield and won 4-1, they beat Napoli 6-2 at home. They’re an attacking team with players that can finish their chances. The goal we conceded was a wonderful shot, a wonderful action. I’m happy because I know how difficult these games are, and I’m also really happy about our reaction after the last defeat,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The Bavarians showed some grit and resilience in pulling out a victory. Hopefully, that kind of effort will carry over into the weekend against Hamburger SV. Surely, Kompany would love see that kind of heart once again.
