Yes, it is almost time for training camp. In the coming week, the Dallas Cowboys will make their annual pilgrimage to , California to begin their preparations for the 2026 season.
Over the last month or so we’ve been trying to nail down the expectations for certain elements and players on the team. Our latest effort involved running back Javonte Williams. The Cowboys re-signed the running back in free agency after he had a very good 2025 season. Williams rushed for 1,201 yards last year.
We wanted
to know how he would do this year compared to last year. Would he avoid injury again? Could he match or surpass his yards total from last season? Would some of the other running backs eat into his carries?
The top response from BTB was that Williams wouldn’t quite match last year statistically, but he would come close. 33% said he would have between 1,100 and 1,199 yards. just under last year’s total. 25% had him at 1,200 – 1,299 yards, while 24% pegged between 1,000 and 1,099 yards as the anwer.
In general, it seems Cowboys fans have faith in Williams to basically run it back in 2026, maybe with the help of a real RB2 this year.
Bonus question: How many yards will the RB2 have in 2025, and who will that be? I’m taking Jaydon Blue with 375 yards.
