The Los Angeles Rams are still waiting to find out if two of their offensive starters will be suspended by the NFL for any length of time in 2026, including wide receiver Puka Nacua and left tackle A.J. Jackson. While the league has yet to make a formal announcement on either player, the NFL’s top insider believes a suspension for Nacua is definitely possible.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on his podcast on Tuesday that he believes the NFL is reviewing Nacua’s offseason headlines, including allegations
that he bit a woman, and that it is “possible” that when the Rams face the 49ers in Week 1, the star receiver will be suspended and unable to play.
Nacua’s problems related to TMZ-style headlines started back as far as last season, including some unfortunate remarks and actions that he made on a Twitch livestream with influencer Adin Ross. From then until early in the offseason, Nacua couldn’t seem to go long without another unseemly headline that reflected poorly on the player, the team, and the NFL.
As such, a suspension for Nacua under the league’s personal conduct policy would seem to be possible. The NFL can suspend players at its own discretion if they feel that the brand is being embarrassed or tarnished by said player, even if no charges are brought against him.
Jackson is facing his second personal conduct policy suspension since 2024. He was suspended two games that year and could face a longer punishment now that he has a second potential violation.
The NFL will surely make an announcement before Week 1, but the Rams and the players continue to wait for official word.
