Texas A&M kicked off the 2026 season with a series sweep of Tennessee Tech last weekend. The Aggies won the contests against the Golden Eagles 15-6, 23-7, and 7-1. Caden Sorrell started the season on fire, going 9-for-15 at the plate with three home runs and ten RBIs. The Aggies followed up that series sweep with a midweek win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, defeating the Islanders 8-3.
Texas A&M will look to keep the momentum going this weekend as they welcome Penn to Olsen Field. The weekend series
marks the first action of the season for the Quakers after going 21-20 (13-8) in conference in 2025. While ‘25 was not a high mark for Penn, the program has had Ivy League success with regular season or tournament titles in three of the last four seasons.
One thing to note for this weekend, per Head Coach Michael Earley, star slugger Chris Hacopian is a little banged up. Hacopian is listed in the projected starting lineup, but it sounds like he could be a game-time decision on Friday. We’ll keep an eye on his status moving forward.
