Dominik Mysterio is busy being the man in AAA right now, and he’s got a big money match set for the main event of Triplemania 34 this Sun., Sept. 13, 2026, in Mexico City. He’ll be defending the AAA Mega championship against El Grande Americano in what should be a defining showcase for the still growing star.
That’s what he chose to focus on when he was asked by Adrian Hernandez for a message to fans wanting him to win more titles and have even more success in WWE:
“I mean, be patient, young Padawans.
I’m not even 30 yet. Let your boy keep developing. We’re still growing. It is what it is. We are on this roller coaster of a ride together. Y’all been with me since I guess I was 8-years-old, so, 20-year vet. I mean, yeah, just keep tagging along, man. I don’t even know what’s next. We are all just enjoying this ride together.”
The way the story is set up in AAA right now, it certainly feels like El Grande Americano will be giving his crowning achievement come Sunday night, which means Mysterio is headed for another defeat and heading back to the main roster at WWE a little lighter. Where they go from there is what fans are concerned about.
I, too, share those concerns. After all, this man was once so despised he couldn’t speak without being drowned by boos, and I think it’s entirely fair to say WWE didn’t do nearly enough with that heat while it was still there. He’s taken a back seat to Judgment Day business while working in AAA. Now that his run there may be wrapping up, let’s hope the end of 2026 and into 2027 will represent a turning point for Dirty Dom in WWE.
