The Philadelphia Eagles may have had a bye in Week 9, but they sure came up winners with the results of Sunday’s game.
There were several surprises coming out of this week’s slate of games, including the Packers losing to the Panthers and the Lions losing the Vikings. These outcomes pleasantly affected the overall NFC rankings, putting the Eagles atop the list, tied with the Buccaneers overall record , Philly holds the head-to-head advantage thanks to their Week 2 win in Tampa.
There’s still plenty of football left, but it’s a good start heading into the back-half of the season. The Eagles could take another step to stay at the top of the conference when they return from the bye week when they face the Packers on Monday Night Football.
Hopefully the Eagles get a handful of injured guys back after the extended break, including A.J. Brown and Cam Jurgens, and on defense, Nolan Smith could return from IR soon and Brandon Graham could be ready to get back in the rotation next week. Philadelphia is in a situation where they can control their own fate, which isn’t always favorable for the Eagles, but this group is definitely talented enough to make the most of this opportunity.
