Real Madrid have been playing it a bit coy with the whole Enzo Fernández situation, but the wheels now appear to be turning, with reports of talks underway between them and the player’s representatives.
Enzo himself has made it pretty clear (without ever saying so specifically) that he would like to join the new Galacticos, which would apparently make not only returning manager José Mourinho happy but new signing Marc Cucurella, too.
“[Enzo] is a great player, and he’s a friend of mine. He congratulated
me on my signing [for Madrid].
“Let’s hope it gets done. I’d be very happy. We’ve been very happy at Chelsea, and both having the chance to sign for Madrid in the same summer … let’s hope he’s lucky, and he becomes a Real Madrid player.”

Chelsea have reportedly set £120m as our asking price for Fernández, though some have put that as high as £150m. We do have Madrid to thank for our current record outgoing transfer, so perhaps we can get them to break it.
Madrid have not made official contact with the club regarding that, but all signs are pointing to this transfer eventually getting done. So I guess let’s make sure we maximize the fee. It’s not like we’re going to be able to replace Enzo either way.
