Rumors have been swirling all summer about Michael Olise’s desire to leave Bayern Munich and join Real Madrid, but no one thought it would only take a day before the Frenchman just up and left a couple of teammates hanging when they needed him.
Kind of.
During a promotional event, Olise felt the urge to get up and leave teammates Jonas Urbig and Lennart Karl hanging to finish the task given to them per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Jonas Urbig, Lennart Karl and Michael Olise formed a team during one of the
challenges at Bayern’s Team Day yesterday – their task was to answer five questions and arrange cards in the correct order. Just 30 seconds after the challenge began, Olise simply left his seat at the desk and walked away from the challenge, leaving Karl and Urbig continue by themselves. Karl responded with a slight grin, while Urbig looked confused. A total of four different challenges were on the program to raise money for the intercultural initiative “Buntkicktgut”. Other teams included Kimmich/Tah/Bischof and Neuer/Brown/Pavlović.
BFW Analysis
The look captured on Olise’s face in the first picture is…hilarious. The Frenchman continues to be an odd bird with his persona to the public, but before anyone reads too much into it, there are plenty of reasons that could have pushed Olise to leave that table:
- He could have been hungry or thirsty?
- He could have been going to recovery or treatment?
- Maybe Bayern Munich’s new Grass Terminator was making him comfortable?
Whatever the case, this is likely something that social media and the foreign media will speculate heavily on. In reality, he just might not have been up to the task on the day or worse, got hit with a flaming spear. Regardless of why he left, it was likely not anything serious, though it will be fun to see what the Spanish media does with this story.
