Ousmane Dembele looks set to miss the chance to face former club Barcelona in the Champions League with PSG after sustaining an injury on international duty with France.
The forward suffered a hamstring problem against Ukraine and is now expected to miss the next six weeks, according to Fabrice Hawkins.
If the estimate proves accurate then Dembele will not be available for the clash with Barcelona on October 1st in Catalunya.
Dembele has been talking about his time at Barcelona this week and how he find it hard to show his best form during his time at the club.
“It was complicated, especially as I was coming to the club after just 18 months as a professional, with six months at Rennes and then a year at Dortmund,” he told FourFourTwo.
“You arrive at 20 years old in a locker room like Barcelona with all the stars, with all the players I dreamed of playing for… it was just exceptional.
“Afterwards, you had to adapt. I wasn’t lucky for three or four years with injuries. When you could play, you had to adapt. When you couldn’t, you had to stay strong. But I was doing what I love and I was at the club of my dreams, Barcelona. It wasn’t easy, but after three or four years, things were much better.”
Dembele ended up moving to PSG where he enjoyed an outstanding season, winning the treble, and impressing so much he is now one of the favorites to lift the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
