Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/33-18)
INDIANAPOLIS 12, SYRACUSE 9 (BOX)
If this was meant to be Brandon Sproat’s audition for a bullpen role…it did not go well. The righty’s see-saw season had a distinct downer on Sunday, allowing seven runs (five earned) in 3.2 innings of relief on seven hits an a pair of walks. Granted, this was a crazy offensive game all around – Jared Young had the most notable performance for Syracuse with a double-dong day – but this still doesn’t build much confidence in his ability to reinforce the major league
bullpen.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/33-18)
BINGHAMTON 12, PORTLAND 10 (BOX)
Another wild offensive game in this one, but the Mets’ side came out on top here. Every starter had at least one hit, most had multiple, and all three of A.J. Ewing, D’Andre Smith, and Jacob Reimer had three hits apiece. Reimer and Ewing, who will be jostling for position in the middle of the Mets top-10 this offseason, both had stellar days; three steals for Ewing, a homer and a triple for Reimer. The performance on the mound, less good, but Ryan Lambert did add yet another perfect inning.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/22-32)
ABERDEEN 5, BROOKLYN 1 (BOX)
A bullpen game loss is not a pleasant experience to watch or recap, frankly. The offense managed only four hits and made two errors, both of which were costly – only one run the Cyclones allowed was earned.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/37-17)
ST. LUCIE 8, PALM BEACH 1 (BOX)
St. Lucie had it rolling in this one. Mitch Voit continues to scuffle a bit – though did have a double in this game – but the rest of the lineup more than covered for him. John Bay had the only long ball, but catcher Daiverson Gutierrez had what was probably the best day overall with a double and two walks.
