Reinforcements for the beleaguered bullpen gets closer. Carlos Vargas made his second rehab outing for Triple-A Tacoma last night; he’s expected to make one more rehab appearance before rejoining the team.
The Mariners have claimed former UW catcher Willie MacIver on waivers from the Blue Jays. He’ll report to Tacoma. This is their second waiver claim this week; on Monday they claimed RHP Nolan Kingham off waivers from the Rangers.
