Safety DeShon Elliott was a full participant in the Steelers’ Wednesday practice ahead of Week 7’s matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Paris.
Currently on injured reserve with a knee injury, Wednesday marked Elliott’s first full practice since being designated to return. With Pittsburgh releasing veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins earlier in the day, it appears that the team is aiming for Elliott to re-join the 53-man roster soon.
While Elliott was listed as full, six Steelers were listed as non-participants
in Wednesday’s practice: Defensive back Jalen Ramsey (wrist) and wide receiver Ben Skowronek (calf) are still dealing with their prior injuries. New DNPs were cornerback Brandin Echols (hamstring) and defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day (tricep).
Veteran defenders T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward were both DNPs Wednesday with rest designations.
Also new on the injury repot, but listed as limited, were outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin), and running back Rico Dowdle (knee). Dowdle just returned to action last week after dealing with a toe injury.
At the time of this writing, the Saints have not yet released their first Week 7 injury report.
