Good morning, baseball fans!
Today is the final day of the San Francisco Giants’ 2026 season. So today I would like to do something similar to what we did yesterday and pick our favorite highlight of the season, strictly based on memory.
And as I mentioned yesterday, the time will come for real evaluations and player reviews and further introspection. But this is not that time. This is the time to remember the season that was and pick the moment that stands out most to you as the highlight of the year.
I know, the pickings were a bit slim but the season was not devoid of highlights. I would know, I wrote about them every week! There were grand slams, walk-offs, splash hits, well-pitched games, and many other moments worth remembering.
I think my pick has to be the April 25th 6-2 win over the Miami Marlins. I can’t narrow it down further than that, because the whole game was my highlight of the year.
And I will admit that I am extremely biased because I was at this game in the best seats I’ve ever had in my life. I brought my best friend with me and it was her very first in-person game and we could not have asked for a better one. The weather was great, we celebrated Brandon Belt, and the Giants remembered that they were allowed to score runs and not also give them all back. It was about as picture perfect of a baseball game as one could ask for and we had an absolute blast.
