Today, North Carolina announced the signing of former Texas Longhorn and Napoli defender, Cameron Brooks. The permanent transfer was completed for an agreed-upon fee, and the contract runs through 2027 with an option for 2028.
“Cameron has worked hard to earn this opportunity, and we’re delighted to welcome her to NC Courage. She’s hungry, motivated, and ready to embrace the standards of this club. She’s a centre back who enjoys having the ball, takes responsibility in possession, and defends with
anticipation. We’re excited to support the next phase of her journey,” said Courage Chief Soccer Officer Ceri Bowley.
Before moving to Italy, the defender began her professional career with the Gainbridge Super League’s Fort Lauderdale United in 2024, where she won 68% of her tackles and 80% of her aerial duels across 19 appearances. She then crossed the pond to join Napoli, where she played every minute of the 2025-2026 season, helping the team to register a 4W-2D-4L record.
Cameron will join the team immediately and won’t take an international spot.
