The Kentucky Wildcats are back in action tonight at Rupp Arena.
Coming off their trip to Bud Walton Arena this past weekend, where Kentucky picked up a big-time victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Cats will look to pick up another SEC win when they host the Oklahoma Sooners tonight.
Tonight will be Oklahoma’s first trip to Rupp Arena in nearly 40 years and the first as a member of the SEC. Of course, Kentucky and Oklahoma met twice last season, with Otega Oweh scoring the winning basket in both
matchups against his former team.
Oweh was superb in both games against the Sooners last year, scoring 28 points in the matchup in Norman, including the last 18 points of the game for the Wildcats. In the SEC Tournament matchup, Oweh scored 27. The Cats could use another big Oweh performance tonight to take down the Sooners.
While Oklahoma currently sits in last place in the SEC, this team shouldn’t be taken lightly at all. The Sooners led in the second half on the road at Texas A&M, and have lost four games in conference play by less than 5 points. This is a team desperate for a win that has shown they can compete with the top teams in the conference.
Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 9:00 ET.
