One day away from the NFL Draft and what happened to all that Makai Lemon buzz? Am I missing something? It seemed for a moment that everyone “knew” the Rams would take Makai Lemon, now? Everyone “knows” the Rams will take Ty Simpson.
To be fair, Lemon may be taken well before the Rams pick, so that could reason for the change in perception. Still though, it’s almost like people are throwing articles out, seeing what gets traction and rolling with it. I would know, I do it too (hehe). Plus, it’s draft
time, information is changing all the time and teams lie, smokescreens, with the occasional nugget of truth (maybe?). Never a dull period around the NFL.
Lemon may still be in the Rams plans, but we don’t know, and the headline I worked up for this was too good to not use, so here we are.
I am biased, if the Rams draft Lemon, I am stoked for it, if they pass on him, then I trust their judgement. I believe in what the Rams are doing under Sean McVay and Les Snead. Yes, they make mistakes, yes, I get frustrated as a fan, but objectively, the Rams have been in good hands under McVay and Snead. I don’t expect that to change this draft.
Please comment on whatever you want, thank YOU for checking out Turf Show Times!
Lemon should be in for a sweet night, whichever team ends up taking him.
32 people (more) are about to have their lives changed. Draft night here we come.
Most popular landing spots for USC’s Makai Lemon in 2026 NFL draft (trojanswire)
“The Rams have been the most popular landing spot for Makai Lemon heading into the draft. Puka Nacua is a bigger and more physical version of what Makai Lemon is in his short stature. Lemon breaks tackles. He can get yards after the catch, he can block, and he understands high-power offenses. Makai Lemon’s skill set makes him a player the NFL does not want to see land with the Rams because he would be a perfect fit.”
Sean McVay will ‘leave the door open’ for Jimmy Garoppolo-Rams reunion (ramswire)
“Despite reports of retirement, McVay said he would “leave the door open” for Garoppolo to return to the team in 2026. Garoppolo has served as Matthew Stafford’s backup for the past two seasons but is currently an unrestricted free agent.
“You leave the door open. I don’t think you want to press,” McVay said. “What you don’t want to do is ever force a guy to play if, in his mind, he’s ready to move on. But you don’t want to minimize that, hey, if you do decide to play, let’s make sure it’s here with us. Have two years of a good relationship, and so this isn’t necessarily new news to us, but it is something that we want to be able to give him his time, and he knows where we stand.””
Random Ramsdom Fandom:
MOCK TRADE – Rams receive: No. 7, Commanders receive: No. 13 (via Falcons), 2026 3rd-round pick, 2027 4th-round pick
7. Los Angeles Rams (mock trade with Commanders) – Makai Lemon, WR, USC
Fox Sports did this in their mock draft. I don’t think Lemon is THAT much better than Boston, Cooper, Concepion to warrant giving up an extra draft pick this year and next. But once Mcvay falls in love with a player……………who knows.
