Lamine Yamal is being tipped to shine for Barcelona against Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Yamal scored three goals in four games against Real Madrid last season, and Joan
Laporta’s adviser Enric Masip is expecting big things from the teenager in the Spanish capital.
“If Lamine has shown anything, it is that he likes challenges, difficult games and in the best scenarios is where he gets his magic but in front of him he has a great team and it will be difficult,” he told Sport.
“I’m not worried, I know he’s a very competitive player. I have no doubt that he will be at his best in a situation that he has just overcome some discomfort, he had to stop and he will not be able to have the best rhythm.”
Masip also spoke about the game, admitting neither team are in top form right now, but he is still expecting a great game between the two rivals.
“A Clasico is a Clasico regardless of the moment of each team, which sometimes one can arrive better than the other, I think it is similar: neither of them is in perfect shape but it is true that it is a Clasico and the emotion will surely be on the surface and they are beautiful games to play for the people, for the players and for those of us who are a little related to the club,” added.
“And well, it will be a magnificent show and I hope it goes the way it has to go everything and nothing to enjoy and try to win.”
Yamal has two goals and an assist in his two appearances since returning from injury after the international break. He’s set to start again at the Bernabeu, although we’ll have to wait and see who else features in attack for the big match.
