Harry Kane believes his connection with Jude Bellingham could be a major asset for England, both on and off the pitch.
The two England stars developed a strong understanding during the World Cup, and Kane believes that relationship has continued to grow as Bellingham has established himself at Real Madrid.
“Jude and I had a really good connection at the World Cup, in the way we played and passed the ball to each other. We had a great connection both on and off the ball. We also built a really strong
relationship off the pitch, and that can only be a good thing for the national team,” Kane told Marca (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s great to see how well he has adapted to Madrid. I spoke to him a little bit during the World Cup about José Mourinho, and I knew he was going to love Mourinho. I also knew José would adore Jude, and obviously it seems like they already have a good relationship. Jude has made a great start, and from an England point of view, it’s fantastic to see that.”
Kane’s comments also highlight how highly he rates Bellingham’s ability to adapt to new challenges. Moving to Real Madrid comes with enormous expectations, but the midfielder has continued to establish himself as one of the most important players in England’s setup as well.
For Kane, the relationship is about more than just passing the ball around the pitch. Having a strong connection away from football can only help when the two are expected to lead England’s attack and midfield together.
With both players still capable of playing at the highest level for years to come, England will hope this partnership continues to flourish.
