It has been a rocky road for Bayern Munich winger Bryan Zaragoza. The 24-year-old arrived at Bayern in the tumultuous winter transfer window of 2023/24, only to be caught up immediately in Thomas Tuchel’s awkward, protracted exit and scarcely playing. Since then the Spaniard was been searching for a new home on loan duty, and it has just not worked out.
From journalist Óscar Méndez, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Bryan Zaragoza admitted in private that he made a mistake by leaving Celta Vigo to Roma in January.
His move to Italy was a failure. The Spaniard would like to return to Celta, but this option is almost impossible. Vigo made a huge financial effort to have him this season and are not willing to pay the same amount again. If he were available for much less money, they would consider another loan, but his name is not on the table right now. Bayern have no place for Zaragoza and are looking for a new club for him [@Oscarmg24]

What a mess…
At the time, Zaragoza’s loan swap was promising. AS Roma paid Celta Vigo a fee just to get him, and Bayern got a small bump in the optional buy clause — which may have become mandatory had playing time thresholds been met — in the new loan deal.
However, his time at Roma was disappointing from all perspectives. Zaragoza did manage an assist but logged fewer than 200 minutes in all competitions while dealing with injury issues that kept him sidelined in later months. Now he is without a club, without a place at Bayern, and needing to move on.
