Bayern Munich was dominant at times during what ended up being a nervy 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, but head coach Vincent Kompany felt like his squad could have scored far more.
The squandered chances bothered the coach after the match, but in the end, he was just happy to secure the three points and start his planning for next weekend’s match against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.
“We missed so many chances. Up until 3-0, we completely dominated the game. Unfortunately
we conceded a penalty and then gifted them a second goal. Frankfurt then tried and pushed until the end for an equalizer. That’s football, it happens. In the end we got the three points, which is the most important thing,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
There were several notable misses including one each from Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise among others, but it initially looked as if those might not have mattered anyway. However, the late charge from Eintracht Frankfurt and the sloppy play from Bayern Munich almost cost the team dearly.
