Ahead of Game 1 tonight, both the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays released their 26-man rosters for the American League Championship Series.
The biggest change for the Mariners from their ALDS roster is that they have added All-Star Bryan Woo. Woo was the Mariners’ best starter of 2025, pitching 186.2 innings with a 2.94 ERA, 3.10 xERA, and 3.47 FIP, but was left off the ALDS roster as he continued to recover from his strained pec he endured during his dominant start against the Astros in September.
Jerry Dipoto has said he expects Woo to be availble to pitch one of the home games later in the week.
The Mariners’ other addition is Miles Mastrobouni, the lefty utility player who spent most of the year with the Mariners but had been sent to Tacoma for the stretch run.
To make room for those two players, Seattle has left Luke Raley and Ben Williamson off the roster after including them for the ALDS. Raley was barely used during the ALDS and offers a skill set made somewhat redundant by Dominic Canzone. Williamson did not appear in the ALDS at all. Mastrobouni offers the Mariners more flexibility as a potential pinch runner and a third player with experience at shortstop.
The major news for the Blue Jays is that they will once again be without their star shortstop Bo Bichette, who hasn’t played since September due to a knee injury. But the Blue Jays have added back two starting pitchers they were without for the ALDS, the veteran righties Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer.
Bryce Miller will start Game 1 for Seattle, and the Jays will turn to Kevin Gausman. Neither team has announced starting pitchers for Game 2 or beyond.
