Rutgers has landed a commitment from Dorian Jones, a 4-star shooting guard in the class of 2025, according to Joe Tipton of On3:
Jones is rated as a 4-star prospect by both On3/Rivals and 247Sports and had previously committed to and signed with Big Ten rival Ohio State. His other offers included
Michigan, Penn State, Syracuse, Missouri and Miami (FL).
247Sports has Jones as the 21st highest-rated shooting guard and 128th highest-rated overall prospect in the country in their composite raying.
Coming out of Richmond Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Jones’ connection to the Buckeyes went beyond the commitment. He was a home state prospect. Tipton noted that the Scarlet Knights were the runners-up in Jones’ initial recruitment, ultimately landed his pledge after he decommitted from Ohio State this past June.
It’s some much-needed good news for Rutgers, which finds itself in rebuild mode after a disappointing 2025 saw both Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey become top-10 NBA Draft picks after missing the NCAA Tournament during their lone season in New Jersey.
