Lead Rumor: All In London
All In is obviously the talk of the town after yesterday and Fightful Select is bringing word on some backstage details going into the show.
They note that Will Ospreay challenging Kenny Omega for the world title in the main event was a plan more generally dating back to early this year, with a path mapped out from MJF to Omega before Ospreay took the championship for himself.
They also had Kevin Knight vs. Darby Allin and MJF & Andrade El Idolo working in the Casino
Gauntlet planned for a number of months ahead of time. There was a lot of the card AEW had worked out for some time.
One that wasn’t? The AEW World Trios Championship, which was finalized just this past week. For that matter, the Motor City Machine Guns were also apparently never factored into anything, and that was done intentionally.
It seems like it all worked out pretty well for everyone in the end, huh?
Other rumors floating around
- Per Fightful, MVP wasn’t at All In due to visa issues and AEW is already looking at making sure issues like this don’t arise in the future.
- There is video making the rounds on social media of Kevin Owens being helped to the back during a WWE live event last night. It’s unclear his status at this time.
- WWE filed to trademark “946” and some have been hinting that it could be for Royce Keys & OTM’s new group.
- EC3 claimed on the Markyd123 channel that WWE recently did a tryout in Minneapolis and didn’t sign anyone “because independent wrestling has kind of lost what they’re looking for.”
