Karl-Anthony Towns will forever be a legend for what he did in the Wildcats’ 2014-2015 season.
A Consensus Second-Team All-American and the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2015, Towns averaged 10.3 points and 6.7 rebounds on a team that was 38-0 and played in the Final Four.
Now, he has a message for the current Kentucky team.
“Be in the present,” Towns said. “When you got Kentucky across your chest and you’re playing for the basketball team, you’re the rock stars of Lexington. Make everyone proud. Show
everyone what it truly means to be a Kentucky Wildcat. Appreciate this moment. Not many people get to call themselves a Kentucky Wildcat. It is one of the biggest honors you’ll receive in life. Enjoy this moment. You may never be in a room with that much talent ever again.”
Big Blue Madness is on Saturday, October 11th. The first exhibition game is on October 24th against Purdue, and the regular-season opener is on Tuesday, November 4th against Nicholls as part of the BBN United Tipoff Classic Presented By Kentucky Tourism.
