When CM Punk tore his triceps in the 2024 Royal Rumble, Logan Paul mocked him for it. Now that he’s a week out from surgery to get his own triceps repaired after tearing it at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23…
…Paul regrets what he said about Punk a couple years ago. The latest(?*) victim of The Vision curse said as much on this week’s Impaulsive:
“I tore my tricep off the bone, and a little piece of bone literally came with the tendon. It’s insane because — I’ll be honest, when CM Punk tore his
tricep, I just thought he was a major pussy. I cut a promo about it. I’m like, ‘You tore your little tricep.’
“I remember thinking the dude tore his tricep, how was he out for six months? How bad could it be? It’s a fucking tricep.
”It’s horrible.”
He said the injury happened on his last spot of the match, a successful WWE World Tag title defense over Street Profits at SNME:
“So what had happened was, I was on the outside, a nearly 300-pound [Angelo] Dawkins comes flying over the ropes. He lands on me, my arm is flexed in trying to catch him landing on the ground — and too much weight, too much tension. I could feel the tendon snap off the elbow.”
The podcasting megastar and former U.S. champ had to tell his Vision teammates Austin Theory and Bron Breakker he was hurt after the match ended, particularly Breakker who Paul was worried might “rip [his] fucking arm off more than it already [was].”
Being sidelined like this has been a struggle for somebody who’s used to always hustling like Paul:
“I felt like me and Austin had so much momentum [as champs] and we were about to go on a generational tag team run. I’m in the best shape of my life ever. My whole business is firing on all cylinders. Everything is just firing. And then I’m just thrown this curveball during the last move of this match, and now the next six months of my life look drastically different — and I cannot see the silver lining yet.”
He’s starting to though:
“I know my return to the WWE will be glorious — like actually glorious. And I’m going to come back bigger and stronger than ever before, and hopefully go on that generational run and become the superstar that I know I can be.”
We assume that will be after he says “sorry” to Punk.
* Pending more on this rumor about Bron Breakker.
